10 Quotes About Productivity That Will Inspire and Motivate You To Act

Last Updated on April 2, 2022 by Stephanie

I read a lot about productivity. Being inspired and motivated to act is one of the reasons I like to read about it. Reading is a keystone habit that can change your life and lead to a lot of great habits. One of my passions is helping others realize how awesome they are. When I read, I learn things I find interesting and love passing them on to others! That’s probably one of the reasons why I love teaching and coaching as well. Put me in a chair with a book meant to inspire and motivate me to get more done and I’m ready to read!

Quotes to inspire and motivate about productivity.

Check out these great quotes about productivity. Some are from various productivity gurus like David Allen and Robin Sharma. Others are from famous exceptional figures like Oprah Winfrey and Walt Disney. It is my hope that they inspire you to get stuff done. I also hope to give you some tips and tricks as well.

“It’s fine to decide not to decide about something. You just need a decide-not-to-decide system to get it off your mind.”

– David Allen
Quotes to inspire and motivate; "Your mind is for having ideas, note holding them." - David Allen

“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.”

– Paul J. Meyer

“Productivity is the deliberate, strategic investment of your time, talent, intelligence, energy, resources, and opportunities in a manner calculated to move you measurably closer to meaningful goals.”

– Dan S. Kennedy
Quotes to inspire and motivate; "The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities." - Stephen Covey

“Don’t confuse activity with productivity. Many people are simply busy being busy.”

Robin Sharma

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”

– Walt Disney
Quotes that inspire and motivate; "Multi-tasking is a lie." - Gary Keller

“The big secret in life is that there is no big secret. Whatever your goal, you can get there if you’re willing to work.”

– Oprah Winfrey

“Don’t expect to find you’re doing everything right – the truth often hurts. The goal is to find your inefficiencies in order to eliminate them and to find your strengths so you can multiply them.”

– Tim Ferriss

My Personal Favorites

All of these quotes inspire and motivate me to act, but there are a few that stood out even more to me. One of those favorites is:

“Don’t confuse activity with productivity. Many people are simply busy being busy.” – Robin Sharma.

I have written about The 5AM Club by Robin Sharma before. This is a great book and talks a lot about being able to take that step back in the morning and figure things out for your day. We do so much day in and day out. In all of that action, we don’t get a lot done. We are often doing a lot of busy work instead of getting high-priority tasks done.  This quote reminds me to remember what needs to get done.

Another of my favorites is the quote by Gary Keller. I have greatly enjoyed his book The One Thing and loved his section about multitasking.

“Multitasking is a lie” – Gary Keller

I’m currently reading a different book, The Productivity Project by Chris Bailey and he talks about the same idea. So many people believe that they can do more than one thing at a time. They don’t know that your brain can’t actually do two things at once. Your brain is only capable of switching back and forth between two different activities. It seemingly does this quickly, but your attention is never actually fully on either task. I like this quote because I like that it reminds me to stop trying to multitask. It doesn’t work, so I need to not do it. If truth doesn’t inspire and motivate me, I don’t know what would!
